Career Courses

The CCA offers several half or quarter credit courses to help prepare students.

UNIV 175 JumpStart Your Career (.5 credit) 
Learn fundamentals of career decision making by exploring and creating a personalized plan to identify and develop skills, interests and career goals; targeted toward first year students with some seats open to other class years.

UNIV 125 Exploring Pre-Health (.25 credit)
Designed to introduce early-career undergraduates to the breadth of the health professions and the careers that can be pursued as well as tactics to set a path to their goals. Offered in the Fall.

UNIV 126 Pursuing Pre-Health (.25 credit) 
Designed to guide upper-class undergraduates through the process(es) necessary to apply to the professional school of their choice. Offered in the Spring.

UNIV 135 Exploring Pre-Law (.25 credit)
Designed to introduce early-career undergraduates to the field of law and the legal profession, as well as give students a chance to reflect on what a career in the law would involve. Offered in the Spring.

UNIV 136 Pursuing Pre-Law (.25 credit)
Designed to prepare upper-level undergraduates for the law school application process, decision-making considerations and ultimate law school experience. Offered in the Fall.

UNIV 338: Prepping for Advanced Degrees (.25 credit)
Self-reflection and strategies for students preparing applications for master’s and Ph.D. programs in all disciplines but not professional school. Contemporary issues in higher education. Weekly writing assignments and peer review. Prerequisite: senior standing. Note: Offered through the University, not taught by CCA staff.
