Faculty & Staff

The Center for Career Advancement (CCA) staff facilitates conversations on career exploration, major selection, internships, research and job/graduate school searches, collaborating with academic departments to support students effectively.

Here are some ways we can work with you:

In the Classroom:

  • Foundation Seminar Visits
    • Discussion focuses on understanding and owning career decisions within the context of students’ current academic experiences and relationships.
  • Classroom Visits & Presentations
    • We welcome the opportunity to visit classes when faculty feel it may help with professional development or career path discussions, including providing relevant activities towards learning objectives.
  • Department Student Meetings
    • Organize a casual gathering to discuss internship/job searches, and graduate school options and share valuable career guidance. Discover your student’s career interests and provide personalized support for their professional journeys.

Making Connections:

  • Alumni Career Panels
    • Alumni are very willing to share information about their career paths and offer advice to students while also reconnecting with Bucknell faculty. Contact us to co-host a panel for your academic department.
  • Connecting with Alumni
    • Learn how to make the most of online platforms like LinkedIn and the alumni directory within BucknellConnect to explore where Bucknellians have successfully pursued careers across various sectors. Additional resources include Bucknell Outcomes and Alumni Career Paths.
  • Employer Relations
    • When alumni or employer contacts share internship or job openings with you, please let us know by sharing it with our Employer Relations team at hireabison@bucknell.edu. This helps us track employer interest in Bucknell, facilitate opportunities for all students and strengthen these important relations year over year.

Faculty advisors are in a unique position to assist students with their career questions and needs. It’s important to remember that we have many resources available for students that can help you in this process. Please feel free to explore the career resources found within this platform.
