Calling all graduating seniors!
I want to begin by congratulating you on reaching this incredible milestone! My name is Katie Rogan, a senior majoring in Political Science, here at Bucknell. As many of you may relate, graduating has brought me a mix of emotions. Alongside the excitement and joy, there can be some uncertainty as we prepare to enter the next chapter of our lives. Luckily, career support follows us into this next chapter.
As seniors, we have dedicated the last few years into exploring our interests, crafting resumes, attending career fairs and meeting with career counselors. As we walk across the commencement stage in May, it may feel like we are leaving this all behind. But the good news is: we aren’t.
Career support doesn’t end at graduation — Bucknell University is here for you even after you leave campus. Whether you’re job searching, considering a career pivot, or simply thinking through your next steps, you’ll still have access to the Center for Career Advancement and one-on-one career coaching.
About 6 months after graduation you will no longer have access to Bucknell-provided Google services, including Gmail, Drive, Calendar and Chat, along with other tools that require Bucknell credentials. We want to make sure you have ample time to prepare. If you use your Bucknell email account for logins (like Handshake, LinkedIn or BucknellConnect) we recommend updating your account information and adding a new email now so you have uninterrupted access to those resources. This article from Bucknell IT is really helpful in outlining what your access as an alum will be.
Access to Handshake will allow you to explore job opportunities specifically for recent graduates that may be posted on the platform. And let’s not forget about BucknellConnect — which you now have full access to — which opens up access to additional resources and of course our exclusive alumni directory. It’s a powerful tool to grow your network, explore different career paths, or connect with Bucknellians who may be hiring. This platform offers a great space to find and reach out to others, especially if you are interested in a new career or company.
Whether you’re navigating post-graduate plans, or still in the process of hearing back, Bucknell continues to offer countless resources to help you in this journey. The Center for Alumni, Family & Philanthropic Engagement offers chances to connect with other grads and advice on things like financial budgeting and life after college. Congratulations, Class of 2026!
